On August 29th, a Telehealth Summit was held in York to provide education and the latest information related to telehealth trends and best practices to support rural health.

Prairie Health Ventures and CHI Health hosted the event which was created for CEO’s, IT Directors, CFO’s, and Clinical Staff.  The response was extraordinary, with over 145 registered attendees.  Topics covered at the conference included:

  • IT Site Preparation
  • Billing and Reimbursement
  • Telehealth Resources
  • USAC Funding
  • Legislative Updates
  • Credentialing
  • Telehealth Networks

The keynote was provided by Dr. Dale Alverson, Director, Center for Telehealth at the University of New Mexico.  He addressed the value of Telehealth in rural facilities.  A panel discussion was held with each member describing their involvement in telehealth, and also answering questions from the audience.  The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and plans are in place to again have the Summit next year.
