Prairie Health Ventures (PHV) announced a change in its ownership structure, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s 50-year history of supporting rural healthcare providers.

As of October 31, 2025, CHI Health has withdrawn its ownership interest in Prairie Health Ventures. The Nebraska Purchasing Group (NPG) is now the sole owner of PHV, which will continue to operate as a single-member limited liability company (LLC). This structure change was initiated by NPG for the long-term benefit of its owners.

Since 2006, PHV has operated under joint ownership between NPG and CHI Health (formerly Alegent Health–Immanuel Medical Center). NPG became the majority owner in 2013 following a corporate restructuring and has since held the majority of seats on the PHV Board of Managers.

“This transition represents a natural next step for our organization,” said Rodney Triplett, CEO of Prairie Health Ventures. “Our long-standing partnership with CHI Health was beneficial for many years, but as both organizations evolved, it became clear that PHV’s future would be best served as an independent, locally focused network. This change allows us to strengthen our alignment with rural hospitals and expand partnerships that directly benefit our members.”

The withdrawal was finalized following a collaborative process between PHV, NPG, and CHI Health to ensure a smooth transition and continued operational stability. Triplett emphasized that the change will have no impact on PHV’s day-to-day operations or its ongoing commitment to member hospitals.

“PHV remains dedicated to serving our members with the same vision and purpose that have guided us for decades,” Triplett added. “We are excited about the new opportunities this independence provides to expand services, explore partnerships, and support the sustainability of rural healthcare across our region.”
