Health Apps are proliferating at increasing rates, and their popularity has raised questions about privacy, security, and content. A group known as Xcertia, led by the American Medical Association, has recommends that health apps should include reputable, up-to-date information; and should ethically collect and use personal information. These recommendations come as the FDA announces they will not be regulating mobile apps moving forward. For this reason, industry guidance will become more and more impactful in the future.
