May 9, 2016 – The Independent Health Network (IHN) project implementation phase is officially now launched as we have received all funding letters from USAC.
As the carriers begin the documentation stage of the installation process, they will be reaching out to participating hospitals to request a walk-through of their facilities.
IP Pathways is the Project Manager of IHN’s installation. You can expect a call from IP Pathways sometime in the next week, requesting the name and contact information for the point person on your end for this project. IP Pathways will pass this information on to the carrier(s) that have existing fiber into or will be installing new fiber into your facility.
Although many of our participating hospitals already have the needed fiber installed, most of the carriers will still want to see where the rack space will be located. Also, each carrier will install an EtherNID (what the router will plug into) and a UPS in the space. IP Pathways will be sending the routers out after they have been loaded and tested. IP Pathways engineers will then come onsite for the final test and turn up.
We anticipate the entire process to take around 120 days.
It’s an exciting and busy time for the IHN! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Rod directly.
Thank you again for your participation!
