Premier holds regional meetings every spring and fall for the Foodservice Directors and Dieticians within their membership. The current contracts are highlighted, money saving ideas are offered, and networking is a strong component of the event among the attendees. As is the custom, this year any food products remaining after the annual Premier Foodservice Regional Tour held in Lincoln were donated to the Lincoln Food Bank. Rather than just toss the products and samples, the vendors willingly leave their remaining items so others less fortunate can benefit. Over 400 pounds of food was donated after the show in November, and to date over 4,000 pounds of food have been donated from this event alone. For the seventh consecutive year, the Food Bank has received a 4-star evaluation from Charity Navigator. They are constantly working towards eliminating hunger and utilizing gifts they receive – either in actual products or monetary donations. They estimate there are 60,350 food-insecure people in Southeast Nebraska alone, and they appreciate any and all help sent their way. We would like to thank the vendors who were so generous in their donations. Prairie Health Ventures is happy to host this event annually and look forward to doing it again this year.
